Garden Project at Riverfront Park

The Sister Cities Association Garden Project is about connections within our Global Village and celebrating our Sister Cities.

The purpose of the Garden Project is:

  • Raise awareness of our global connections – Spokane IS an international city
  • Highlight and unite the cultures of Spokane and its Sister Cities
  • Rehabilitate an underutilized portion of Riverfront Park (location of Japanese Pavilion during Expo ’74)
  • Create a unique plaza setting for outdoor receptions for international guests

The Garden Project has the following goals:

  • Showcase Spokane’s sister cities
  • Include interactive elements
  • Attract new visitors and invite repeat visitors.
  • Visually open garden to the larger park
